Judge rejects campaigners’ ‘wholly unarguable’ bid to block HS2 tree felling

The High Court has rejected a bid by environmental campaigners to block tree-felling as part of the High Speed Two (HS2) works due to the possible presence of a colony of extremely rare bats, a move the developer of the train line claimed would cause a delay costing up to £90 million.
