High Court quashes consent for 291-home scheme due to council’s ‘error’ interpreting NPPF advice on veteran trees

An east London council’s granting of permission for the controversial 291-home redevelopment of a hospital site has been overturned by the High Court after a judge ruled that the authority misinterpreted a national tree preservation policy.
